About PhilBetter Blues...

PhilBetter Blues is a love letter to the messy, wet fringe of creativity. Born from the enigmatic chaos of our histories, we’re here to champion the magic of self-expression and celebrate those who live life best when coloring outside the lines.
It’s where ink starts to blend, notes begin to sing, and art and sound hitch a ride together. It’s not about perfection—it’s about the journey, the vibe, and the moments that ignite life.
So, join us as we step into the now, where art and music collide and creativity is always in full bloom.
PhilBetter 'Nose' Blues-life best! Live it, 'Breath' it!

Our Founder: PhilBetter Klasing
From early on, his creative career was that of an impassioned sign painter and window-splash artist who—long before technology became the buzzkill—could be seen throughout Pasadena and Glendale, CA, in his tempera-stained whites, commanding glass palettes from curbsides as late nights turned into early mornings. Yeah, he was no "Von Dutch," but Dutch is Dutch. That’s why he and his brother Geoff Klasing love to tell those who’ll listen that the local Dutch-Indonesian rockers, Eddie and Alex (Van Halen), were just brothers from a different mother!
Like design, PhilBetter’s love for music was deeply rooted in the blues and its related genres that make up its American roots. Through this, he reached for a different instrument. Rather than a paintbrush, it was his harmonica that, in time, would lead him onto a stage or two, affording him the raw experience of performing before a live crowd. This evolved into as much of an art form as his freelance career in the commercial sign game.
Decades later, with beloved windowpanes behind him, technology grew all too consuming, prompting PhilBetter to trade in his paint-and-brush skills for what became a reluctant dive into the seemingly misguided world of "computer-aided" graphic design. Over time, however, PhilBetter came to realize that his love for art—in the visual sense—far outweighed any need for commercial signage.
Today, PhilBetter believes in the power of design to tell stories and create connections. Through his art and brand, he aims to celebrate the spirit of those who dare to express themselves, blending his love for American roots music with a dynamic approach to apparel and design. PhilBetter Blues is a reflection of his commitment to authenticity, creativity, and community.

PhilBetter’s younger brother, Geoffrey Klasing, known best for his treasured brand of comedic wit, has also played a vital role in shaping the vision of the brand. Along with time spent behind a drum kit and his deep admiration for PhilBetter’s artistry, Geoffrey has been a partner in this creative journey since its inception.
Together, they are building a brand that resonates with people who value artistic expression and cultural heritage.
